Sydney melodic hardcore outfit Bloom have recently dropped their new single Bound To Your Whispers and announced their signing to Pure Noise Records in partnership with Greyscale Records.

Not only that, but the quintet also have a stacked few months ahead of them, beginning with their national support slot with Thornhill on the Destroy All Lines presented Prom Queen City tour in October alongside Holding Absence and Thousand Below. Shortly after, the band will play the highly anticipated Good Things Festival in December, joining Fall Out Boy, Limp Bizkit, Bullet For My Valentine and more in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney.

The Everblack Podcast caught up with Jono Hawkey from Bloom to talk about their new single “Bound To Your Whispers”, Good Things festival and pineapple on pizza!

Bound To Your Whispers is Bloom‘s bold return after over a year since the last release. Once again joining forces with long time collaborator Christopher Vernon (Better Half, Belle Haven), Bound To Your Whispers an exploration of internal disparity and the disconnect between internal doubts and the manipulation of one’s self.

“Written as dialogue between the two internal voices, the protagonist is manipulated by their own thoughts, falling into a false sense of security,” explains the band.

The single tussles with anxiety and the false sense that accompanies. Navigating the internal struggle between the voice of reason and the seeds of doubt, Bound To Your Whispers depicts a tale of decline as the protagonist is eventually consumed by their own negative thoughts. Sonically narrated with blazing vocal deliveries and melodic, heavy-hitting instrumentation, Bloom‘s latest single conjures an emotional listen until it’s final heartbeat.

With this new release, Bloom become the second Australian band to join the Pure Noise Records fold, finding themselves in the company of The Amity Affliction, Counterparts, Knocked Loose and more. Pure Noise partner up with Greyscale Records who have been with Bloom since 2020.
