Wellington metal maniacs Bulletbelt reunite with the cult horror franchise 10 years after creating the original Deathgasm theme. The official music video receives an exclusive premiere September 11 through Decibel Magazine.
It’s a full circle moment for Bulletbelt after writing and recording the original “Deathgasm” theme for Jason Howden’s cult 2015 horror-comedy. The Wellington band return with a brand-new song written specifically for its sequel, Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon.
Deathgasm Writer/Director Jason Howden says,
“Before making DEATHGASM 2 I was adament that Bulletbelt had to return to write and perform the theme song. The track they made for the first film was instantly iconic so I knew they would do a great job with the sequel’s title track. Bulletbelt’s DEATHGASM 2 theme song still exceeded my expections, the guys knocked it out of the park yet again! Director Alex Hargreaves produced an epic music video which captures the film’s energy perfectly. I’m beyond proud of the clip that her and the team created and know that DEATHGASM fans will love it.”
“Deathgasm 2” is Bulletbelt at their most direct and ferocious: fast, catchy and hook laden heavy metal made for the sequel’s blood-soaked world. The band’s original “Deathgasm” became a defining part of the 2015 film and its musical identity. Now, that connection continues with a new anthem built for Goremageddon.
“Deathgasm 2” is the first single from Bulletbelt’s forthcoming sixth album, Midnight Fistfight, produced by Damien Rainaud and scheduled for release February 12, 2027.
