Gold Coast, Australia — After nearly two decades of silence, Gold Coast metalcore outfit Avenge The Dead have officially returned, unleashing their long-awaited new single, “No Idols”. The track marks the band’s first release since 2008’s ATD vs Disorder Arise (Japan) Split and signals a powerful new chapter for one of the region’s most respected heavy acts.
Blending the raw intensity and breakdowns that defined their early sound with a darker, more refined edge, “No Idols” delivers a crushing statement of intent. Driven by relentless riffs, urgent vocals, and an unflinching message, it is the most political the band have been and the single viciously condemns corrupt leaders and institutions that exploit the vulnerable, protect monsters, and manipulate people through fear and false promises, it’s a calling for people to speak out against injustice, and tear down the systems built on greed, suffering, and deceit.
The release serves as the first glimpse into Avenge The Dead’s upcoming EP, slated for release in 2027. While details remain under wraps, the band promises a collection of songs that honor their roots while pushing into heavier, more emotionally charged territory.
Formed on the Gold Coast in the mid-2000s, Avenge The Dead quickly built a reputation for their ferocious live shows and uncompromising sound.
With “No Idols,” Avenge The Dead are not simply picking up where they left off, they’re evolving, louder and more focused than ever.
The single is available now on all major streaming platforms.
