Gold Coast metal icons Sunk Loto return to the stage in August playing their first shows since 2023. Hitting the Crowbars and the Corner with new single Dead Shadows front and centre.
Instrumental in shaping Australia’s heavier end of the alternative scene in the early 2000’s, Sunk Loto were mentioned in the same breath as Sevendust, Korn and Deftones.
After a decade of being everywhere, they disappeared in 2007 – gone for 15 years.
The Everblack Podcast caught up with Jason Brown from Sunk Loto to talk about the band’s long-awaited return, their upcoming Australian tour, reconnecting with fans after all these years, the legacy of Between Birth and Death, new music, and what the future holds for one of Australia’s most influential heavy bands.

In 2022, Sunk Loto came roaring back, picking up exactly where they left off and whipping longtime fans and a whole new generation into a frenzy with two sold-out national tours. It was as if they had never been away.
With plenty still left to say, the band proved it with their first new song in over 20 years, “The Gallows Wait”—a crushing reminder that none of their trademark ferocity had faded.
Speaking about the upcoming tour, the band said:
“We’re going to be playing a spread of old and new songs we haven’t played live in years, our new single, and more from the forthcoming release. We can’t wait. See you there!”
These shows will be the closest you’ll get to experiencing Sunk Loto in full flight. Intimate venues, no barriers—just the band, the crowd, and the music.
If their last run of dates proved anything, it’s that fans still can’t get enough. We’d be surprised if these shows don’t sell out quickly.
