Swedish heavy metal giants Sabaton are back on Australian soil, kicking off their long-awaited national headline tour this week with Amaranthe. Known for their battle-charged anthems and explosive live shows, the band are ready to ignite a new era with the highly anticipated release of their 11th studio album Legends, arriving October 17 via Better Noise Music — marking their label debut.
Throughout the aptly titled Legends, Sabaton blend their trademark fusion of rock and history, bringing to life some of the world’s greatest and most celebrated figures, including Jeanne d’Arc, Napoleon Bonaparte, Julius Caesar, and the legendary swordmaster Miyamoto Musashi.
Joakim Brodén of SABATON joins the Everblack Podcast to talk about their upcoming album Legends, their long-awaited Australian & New Zealand headline tour with Amaranthe, and diving deep into the history of Joan of Arc, Napoleon, Vlad the Impaler and more. Joakim also shares stories about writing and recording Legends, the return of guitarist Thobbe Englund, their history-inspired songwriting process, future touring plans, collaborations, and why Australian fans can expect a very special setlist this time around.
