Sydney’s Dead By Dawn make their first recorded statement with a crushing declaration of defiance, rage and breaking free.
SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA — Sydney heavy metal outfit Dead By Dawn are set to unleash their debut single, “No Chains,” on Friday, 13 November 2026, introducing their uncompromising sound to the wider metal community.
Built on crushing grooves, punishing riffs and unrelenting aggression, “No Chains” is a statement about being pushed to the limit, having your struggles ignored and finding the strength to break free from whatever holds you down.
Its message is raw and direct: when your pain goes unheard and the pressure never lets up, there comes a point when enough is enough. What begins as frustration and suppressed rage erupts into defiance, reclaiming what was taken and refusing to remain trapped.
“You will never hear me when my demons cry / But you will fear me when I bare no chains.”
That sentiment sits at the heart of the track — a declaration of breaking the shackles, confronting what lies beneath and refusing to be held down any longer.
Musically, Dead By Dawn draws from the heavier end of the metal spectrum, combining elements of groove metal, death metal, thrash and metalcore into a sound built for maximum impact. With influences including Bleed From Within, Lamb of God, Decapitated Fear Factory & Pantera, the band balance groove-driven heaviness with a vicious, uncompromising edge.
Formed in 2024, the Sydney five-piece have been working towards their first official release while building their presence in the Australian underground metal scene. “No Chains” is the opening statement — an introduction to a band driven by aggression, conviction and a refusal to pull its punches.
