Today, September 16th, NSW Indie-Punks Raised As Wolves release their new single Áwake Swimming’, the first track from their upcoming release, marking a new chapter of creativity from the band.
The new music showcases a progressive, gritty and accomplished group that are miles away from their humble beginnings, while maintaining the burning fire and relentless energy that has seen them become beloved by those who have witnessed their journey.
Brad Colley, Singer, Guitarist says,
“This song is kind of about the frustration that comes with constantly trying to create new things, which is ironic because it’s probably my favourite song the band has ever written. Ultimately though, it’s about whatever you think it’s about. I think a good song should have enough ambiguity to take on whatever meaning the listener wants to give it, and it should be able to tell their story to an extent.
We’ve played together for so long that I don’t really have to say much more than that when I present a song to Mason and Joe, because I’ve written it with the exact thing that they would play in mind. I think this one really represents each of our individual playing styles really well – if you want to know what Raised as Wolves sounds like these days, this is the one”,
‘Raised As Wolves’ followed up their 2022 debut LP ‘Nervous Feelings’ (Resist Records) with ‘Mirror’ as part of a split LP on Resist in 2024. Today Raised As Wolves tease their second LP with the first single, ‘Awake Swimming’ through Fowl Taste Records/Lost Souls.
