Amy McIntosh from VILIFY talks new music, touring and CVLTFEST

Newcastle metalcore outfit Vilify have recently unleashed their scathing new single Dread Addict and are currently midway across their East Coast on tour with Bare Bones.
Not only that, the band have recently been announced to be taking part in the massive Alpha Wolf spearheaded and curated festival CVLTFEST, taking place at Brisbane Eatons Hill on February 24.

The Everblack Podcast spoke with Amy McIntosh from Vilify about AlphaWolf’s CVLTFEST, new music, touring and more!

Watch/listen to the interview here:

Detailing the emotional turbulence of frequently falling into a baseless cycle of dread and manifesting a reason for the feeling, Dread Addict is about being addicted to the lows and acting out to feel in control of that reality.

“When I am at my lowest with no explanation I find myself doing the worst of the worst,” explains vocalist Amy McIntosh“Acting like a person I don’t recognise just to have a reason to feel the way I feel. It’s almost as if nothing logical is making me feel this shitty… I better go give myself a reason to feel shitty.”

Produced, mixed and mastered by Chris Blancato (Northlane, Reliqa, Bare Bones), the new track experiments with haunting undertones and softer clean vocal moments against harsh lead lines, welcoming a new dynamic to Vilify’s latest single. The music video, directed, filmed and edited by Karl Stellar Media (Gravemind, Bad Juju, Mélancolia) visualises the theme.
