Today, Newcastle heavy hardcore kings Honest Crooks release the title track from their new album The Sounds Of Hell, out this Friday on EVP Recordings (Psycroptic, Disentomb, Zeolite). The track showcases all the elements of the album. Dark dissonant moments mixed with the brutal heavy hardcore and death metal sound the band are renowned for. The bands “Hell Across Australia” tour kicks off February 16 on the Gold Coast, with special guests Japan’s Kruelty. Full tour details including local supports below.

On the title track, vocalist Brodie states “A percentage of the lyrics on this album are about a fictional hell and another percentage are about my own personal hell, a document of some of my lowest lows and worst experiences. This song is an interesting one as I originally thought I was writing it in the context of the fictional hell to fill up the rest of the album. But after some time I realised, I had written a song about a very intense experience I had as a child without consciously knowing it at the time. After a lot of introspection I now see I needed to do that to begin the cathartic process, to address the emotions I buried deep in my subconcious so I can start to move forward from the experience. The addition of having Elliott, Sonya and Peter Gallart feature on the track was also very special to me. I’m grateful to have this song on the record”
