Melbourne heavy collective Fading Hour will release their towering second single and official music video, ‘The Quiet God’, on Monday, October 26, 2026, offering another glimpse into their forthcoming debut concept album, due in early 2027.
Forged from a massive, cinematic wall of sound, brooding atmospheric weight and dynamic vocal hooks, ‘The Quiet God’ delivers a hauntingly emotional and sonically immense experience. Fans of Architects, I Prevail and Deftones should take note.
Following the September release of lead single ‘Welcome, Stranger’, which earned early acclaim and feature interviews with Wall of Sound and Sense Media, alongside rotation on AndrewHaug.com, ‘The Quiet God’ plunges deeper into the album’s dystopian narrative.
Enveloping listeners in dark, cinematic atmospheres, pulsing synth textures and crushing polyrhythmic riffs, the track explores psychological isolation, grief and an internal rewiring where loss hardens into survival.
Driven by the uncompromising instrumental foundation of Chris Ferré on drums, Jono Bach on bass and Pete Borzeta on guitar, ‘The Quiet God’ is anchored by the dynamic vocal range of former Circles frontman Perry Kakridas. Seamlessly shifting between sombre, melancholic cleans and monstrous gutturals, Kakridas delivers the song’s central reckoning:
“You were the light fate tore from me / Now hatred blooms where hope should be.”
Engineered in-house by Ferré at Fading Hour HQ and mixed and mastered by Tyson Fish, the release combines fiercely independent authenticity with stadium-scaled production.
Backed by a 17-year history and a formidable reputation as a commanding live act, Fading Hour will bring ‘The Quiet God’, ‘Welcome, Stranger’ and ‘The Death of All’ to the stage for their hometown Melbourne Triple Single Launch at Shotkickers in Thornbury on Friday, December 5, 2026, with support from Deadweight 80 and Outerworlds.
