RIVERS OF NIHIL: Adam Biggs Talks the Self-Titled Album, PSYCROPTIC Tour & More

This August, US progressive death metal innovators RIVERS OF NIHIL return to Australia for a highly anticipated co-headline tour with Tasmania’s extreme metal masters PSYCROPTIC, bringing together two of the most forward-thinking forces in modern metal.

Riding the momentum of their acclaimed 2025 self-titled album RIVERS OF NIHIL, the band continue to push the boundaries of extreme music, refining their signature blend of crushing heaviness, atmosphere and progressive ambition. The record marks another evolution in the band’s journey, expanding on the sonic world they created with Where Owls Know My Name while showcasing a new era with bassist Adam Biggs stepping into the role of frontman.

The Everblack Podcast caught up with Adam Biggs from RIVERS OF NIHIL to talk about their long-awaited return to Australian shores, the response to their self-titled album, the creative process and deeper themes behind the record, stepping into the spotlight as vocalist, the inspiration behind standout track “Criminals,” their upcoming tours with KILLSWITCH ENGAGE and MACHINE HEAD, and what’s next for one of modern metal’s most ambitious and innovative bands.

Joining them on all dates are Melbourne’s psychologically charged Growth who are on the eve of releasing part two of their highly anticipated album trilogy, Under The Under, and Sydney’s uncompromisingly brutal, Slaughtercult, rounding out a bill that is equal parts precision, atmosphere and outright savagery.
