After tearing it up across Australia alongside rock royalty THE ANGELS, plus appearances aboard ROCK THE BOAT, DISGRACELAND have firmly established themselves as one of the country’s most chaotic and entertaining live acts.
Fronted by “The King” himself, DISGRACELAND isn’t an Elvis tribute show. It’s what happens when classic rock’n’roll swagger gets thrown headfirst into a loud, sweaty punk rock bar fight.
ELVIS PRESLEY. MOTÖRHEAD. NIRVANA. JOHNNY CASH. THE SAINTS. THE ANGELS. FRANK SINATRA. THE RAMONES.
Nothing and no one is safe.
The band takes songs you know and love, drags them through distortion pedals and throws them back at you coated in attitude. The result is pure pub-rock mayhem built for sweaty rooms full of people who still want their music to feel dangerous.
Now, DISGRACELAND move from the stage to your stereo with a fired-up reinterpretation of the HOODOO GURUS classic, Wipeout.
Rather than simply covering the track as the HOODOO GURUS delivered way back when, the band have rebuilt it entirely in their own image; louder, faster and dripping with swagger. Halfway through, things take a left turn with a huge guitar section inspired by the days when solos were excessive, over the top and absolutely necessary, before unexpectedly tipping the hat to ELVIS PRESLEY’s That’s Alright Mama, a fitting nod to one of the foundations the band was built on.
It’s messy. Loud. Fun. Exactly as intended.
