South Africa’s slamming deathcore outfit Vulvodynia welcomes new vocalist Zion Bittenbender to their ranks, while former lead vocalist Lwandile Prusent transitions to guitars – marking a new chapter for the now six-piece, which is rounded out by Luke Haarhoff (guitars), Kris Xenopoulos (guitars), Thomas Hughes (drums) and Nate Gilbert (bass).

Luke Haarhoff (guitars) comments: “We’re very excited to announce Zion Bittenbender as our new vocalist. We’ve been working with him behind the scenes for a while now, and the new material is sounding like the best music we’ve created to date. We can’t wait for all of you to hear the new era of Vulvodynia.”

Formed in 2014, Vulvodynia was built on one singular purpose: to make the craziest, most absurdly heavy music possible, while attempting to define themselves as more than just “another slam band.” From their debut full-length Cognizant Castigation (2014) to 2024’s “ground-shattering” (No Clean Singing) Entabeni, they’ve left a path of wreckage in their wake.

Now, with the arrival of Zion Bittenbender, Vulvodynia is primed to unleash devastating new music in 2026 that will raise their bar for brutality.

Currently on tour in Asia, Vulvodynia will appear alongside All Shall Perish, Peeling Flesh, Acranius and Necrotted later this month and into December as part of the “Europe Slamageddon Tour 2025”.
