Lamb of God are back — and they’re as unrelenting as ever. The GRAMMY® Award-nominated metal titans have unleashed “Sepsis,” a visceral and menacing new single out now via Century Media Records / Epic Records (US/CAN), marking the band’s first original release since 2022’s acclaimed album Omens.
Produced by longtime collaborator Josh Wilbur, the three-and-a-half-minute track channels raw aggression and atmosphere in equal measure. Accompanying the release is a grainy, lo-fi performance video, directed by Gianfranco Svagelj, offering a moody and unfiltered glimpse into Richmond’s underground — a setting that perfectly mirrors the song’s dark energy and slow-burning tension.
“‘Sepsis’ is a celebration of the very underground local bands here in Richmond that we really admired when we were just forming Burn the Priest,” guitarist Mark Morton explains. “Bands like Breadwinner, Sliang Laos, and Ladyfinger—though they never got widespread attention outside of Richmond, those were the bands we listened to all the time. The song references that stuff in a way that’s a direct line to where we were coming from when we were in the basement writing our earliest material together.”

2025 has already been a landmark year for Lamb of God. The band celebrated the 25th anniversary of their discography, headlined the “Back to the Beginning” concert event, and delivered a thunderous cover of Black Sabbath’s “Children of the Grave.” Their calendar has also included massive festival appearances at Inkcarceration and Louder Than Life, plus a sold-out hometown headliner at Richmond’s new 7,500-seat Allianz Amphitheater during its opening season.
Adding to the momentum, Lamb of God recently signed a worldwide deal (excluding US/CAN) with Century Media Records.
“We are beyond thrilled to welcome Lamb of God — one of the most iconic and influential bands in heavy music — to the Century Media Records family,” says Dennis Moll, Head of A&R at Century Media. “Their recent appearance at Ozzy Osbourne’s historic final show in Birmingham, along with their striking cover of Children of the Grave, once again underlines their timeless importance and creative power within the scene. We are grateful for the trust the band and their team have placed in us, and we look forward to building an incredible new chapter together.”
Lamb of God aren’t slowing down any time soon. As 2025 winds down, the band is gearing up for performances at Aftershock, AMMA Championship Fest, and the return of their own Headbangers Boat cruise — a four-day floating festival running October 31 to November 4, sailing from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico.
The cruise lineup boasts heavyweights including Clutch, Kublai Khan TX, Power Trip, Obituary, DevilDriver, Fear Factory, The Black Dahlia Murder, The Exploited, Crowbar, Nekrogoblikon, Eighteen Visions, Gideon, Walls of Jericho, Category 7, and Brat, alongside comedians Josh Potter and Saul Trujillo, with appearances from Jose Mangin and Riki Rachtman.
