MAX CAVALERA talks Soulfly’s New Album “Chama”, Tribal Tech Sound, Nailbomb & Australian Tour

Coming straight from the deep jungles of Brazil to the arid expanses of Arizona, extreme metal trailblazers SOULFLY will deliver their tribally fueled thirteenth album CHAMA on October 24^th 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records. Once again, a remarkable testament to the Brazilian songwriter’s natural affinity for slamming yet rhythmic riffs that defined his signature sound to listeners around the world. The Everblack Podcast caught up with Max Cavalera to dive into the brand new Soulfly album Chama, which he describes as a “Tribal Tech” creation that fuses heavy grooves, primal rhythms, and industrial chaos. In the interview, Max also talks about revisiting classic Nailbomb material, the upcoming Australian tour and festival appearances at Froth & Fury Fest in Adelaide and Perth, collaborating with Dino Cazares (Fear Factory), and celebrating nearly 30 years of Soulfly’s relentless legacy.

Chama is inspired by the energy of this moment This record is the sound of Soulfly’s fire! I cannot wait to play these songs live for the Tribe! Chama!”
