Southern California’s post-hardcore stalwarts MOVEMENTS will unleash their fourth album Happier Now on September 4 via Fearless Records.
Now, they share the new song Separate.
Separate closes Movements‘ new album Happier Now. Here, the quartet sharpens its angular riffing, heightens its signature push and pull musical tension, and as always, delivers contemplative lyrics. Never has struggle sounded so sweet than on Separate, a song that tugs at the heartstrings with its post-hardcore earnestness. It serves as a reminder that no matter hard things get, you have to keep pushing forward.
“Separate is about a turning point I experienced during the writing of this album,” says singer Patrick Miranda. “Between creative friction, internal and intrapersonal struggles, and the weight of needing to create something that felt meaningful, the stress of it all hit me hard. I felt like I had nothing more to offer in that moment. Instead of fighting it, I withdrew. It’s about feeling so overwhelmed in life that instead of confronting the issue, you just want to separate entirely from whatever situation is causing it.”
Movements will embark on a U.S. headline tour in October, with support from Balance and Composure, Midrift, and NIIS. Most recently, Movements toured Australia nationally supporting Pierce The Veil on their sold out arena run.
