New Zealand heavyweights ALIEN WEAPONRY are set to storm Australia this month in support of thrash icons Anthrax.
Fresh from a blistering run of dates with Avatar, the trio continue to tour behind their latest album Te Rā, further cementing their reputation as one of the most powerful young acts in contemporary metal.
The Everblack Podcast caught up with frontman Lewis de Jong while on the road in Portugal to discuss life on tour with Avatar, the anticipation surrounding their upcoming Australian shows with Anthrax, and the importance of sharing Māori culture through their music. He also opened up about the creative process behind Te Rā, his passion for art, and what fans can expect from the band’s next chapter.

Since the release of their breakthrough debut Tū in 2018, ALIEN WEAPONRY have carved out a global reputation for their explosive live energy, razor-sharp musicianship and unflinching cultural storytelling. Blending English and te reo Māori — the indigenous language of Aotearoa — their music delivers both sonic intensity and powerful, culturally resonant messaging.
With renewed fire and focus behind Te Rā, the band are proving once again why they’re leading the charge for a new generation of heavy music.
