Artifact Release ‘Atrophy’ Music Video

Following the release of the bands outstanding new EP ‘Umbra’, Australian rising metalcore stars Artifact have unleashed the cinematic and haunting music video for the song ‘Atrophy’.

The video was filmed in rural New South Wales and offers a chilling and eerie vision that aligns with the lyrical message behind the song. As vocalist Rebecca Horseman states:

“Atrophy is built on a foundation of unease and emotional abrasion, this track unravels the torment of body dysmorphia, perfectionism, and dissociation through a hauntingly volatile soundscape. It captures the internal decay of identity and the desperate search for recognition, framed by surreal imagery and visceral intensity. A confrontational descent into the psyche, where self-perception fractures under the weight of obsession and isolation.”

Directed and produced by film maker Damien Jenkins, with acting by Sarah Mifsud, the music video consolidates the scope and deep lyrical themes that are the foundation of the new EP. Following on from the bands outstanding previous work, ‘Umbra’ sees the band push themselves further in every respect, from the outstanding contrast of vocalists Michael Veneris and Rebecca Horseman, through to the crushing and immersive soundscapes composed by guitarists Hayden Rapley and Nathan Clarke, backed by the intensity and dynamic of drummer Harvey Saxton, there is an energy and intensity to ‘Umbra’ that absolutely confirms the bands recognition as one of Australia’s most intriguing and promising metalcore acts.

The band have once again worked with ARIA Award winning producer Lance Prenc on the new EP, who has been responsible for albums by powerhouse Australian acts Polaris and Alpha Wolf.

‘Umbra’ is available now through Bleeding Art Collective in partnership with Blood Blast Distribution.
