NOWHERE2RUN – the new project from Jami Morgan and Eric “Shade” Balderose of the 2x Grammy-nominated band Code Orange – have released their new EP What Did You Do?, via their own NOWHERE RECORDINGS
The Everblack Podcast caught up with Jami Morgan from NOWHERE2RUN to dive deep into the new EP What Have You Done?, the project’s evolution from a low-key producer alias into a full creative universe, and the heavy world-building behind the music. Jami breaks down the collabs with Ho99o9, Sadistik, Backxwash and more, the Blood Rave shows, scoring films, the gritty noir influences, and why NOWHERE2RUN lets him explore a different side of his artistry outside of Code Orange. We also talk future plans, the energy of the live shows, Dominic Landolina’s recovery, the possibility of Code Orange returning “in a different form’.

Recorded and self–produced between Los Angeles and Pittsburgh over the past year, the five-track EP features guest appearances by H09909, Kamiyada, Backxwash, Lecx Stacy, Sadistik, and Erex.
Commenting on the new music, Consequence shared “‘Motives’ calls to mind classic industrial acts like Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, and Nine Inch Nails,” while Revolver lauded the new project’s “murky, club-dustrial feel full of bass-boomed beats and electronics-frazzled melodies.” Stereogum declared “there’s officially a new ominous industrial synth band in town,” with Kerrang! attesting “The industrial/techno/rap hybrid sits somewhere between the pumping synthwave of Carpenter Brut or Perturbator and the grimy nightmare hip-hop of Ho99o9 and Mimi Barks.”
What Did You Do? follows NOWHERE2RUN’s debut EP Slivering The Senses (2024) which includes collaborations with Loathe (“Ant In The Afterbirth”), SiiickBrain (“Floodlights”) and Alejnadro Aranda (“The Vanishing”).
The duo’s immersive BLOODRAVE event series continues tonight with a special Halloween release day event at Spirit in Pittsburgh, PA [full itinerary below]. BLOODRAVE, which initially launched just under a year ago, has become a staple of NOWHERE2RUN’s creative world, showcasing goth, techno, and industrial music in an all-encompassing, multisensory environment.
