Australian melodic tech-death band Snake Mountain have joined forces with Brisbane-based heavy electronic artist Monsters Around Us for an industrialised Halloween remix of their 2023 standalone single “Veins.”

Originally released as a blistering fusion of tech-death riffs and melodic hooks, The Dark Knight Inspired “Veins” has now been reconstructed and reimagined through Monsters Around Us’ signature dark electronic lens — twisting the track into a fever-dream of industrial aggression and cinematic horror atmosphere.

“I grew up loving industrial metal and always wanted to hear one of our own songs twisted and reinterpreted in that world,” says vocalist Nev Pearce. “I’ve known Colin for years and have always respected his work with other artists, so getting him to take ‘Veins’ and drag it into his dark, cinematic electronic universe just made perfect sense.”

Along with the with the single, Snake Mountain have also released a remixed version of their Veins video by guitarist Jackson Price and originally filmed Kyle Watson of Counterfeit Films which can be seen here:

On working with the band Colin Cadell says

“Remixing is a huge part of what Monsters Around Us is about and it was a pleasure to be asked by Snake Mountain to reimagine one of their bangers. I took the extreme tempo of the original track and have reworked it via an industrial and breakcore lens to make something heavily inspired by Igorrr, Mick Gorden and Aphex Twin. Taking all inspirations from film soundtracks, the source material and my own weird tastes.
It’s been a true joy to work on this reworking of Veins, and I hope you all enjoy the chaos.”

The past 12 months have been busy and highly productive for the band — closing out 2024 with a set on the Garage Stage at Brisbane’s GOOD THINGS FESTIVAL, then launching into 2025 with a bang as main support for Alestorm and Nekrogoblikon at their SOLD OUT show at The Tivoli.

From there, 2025 saw the band step up to even bigger stages both at home and interstate, supporting international heavyweights including TestamentGutslitGutalaxPossessed, and Onslaught. They also returned to Adelaide for Southern Death Fest and travelled to Alice Springs for Blacken Open Air, where they played a coveted 10pm opening-night slot alongside the likes of UadaBlood DusterEarthlessGutalaxBattlesnakeHidden Intent, and Frenzal Rhomb.

With no signs of slowing down, Snake Mountain have been hard at work behind the scenes on new music and are gearing up for a massive year ahead — with new shows and tours set to be announced soon.
