Sydney Northern Beaches Dive Bar Goes Full Rock n Roll
At a time when music venues around the country seem to be shutting their doors, it’s always exciting to see the birth of a new one. The Wings n Tins dive bar in Dee Why on Sydney’s Northern Beaches is the breath of fresh air bands and music fans in the area have been craving for a very long time. Wings n Tins has been serving up tasty food and drinks for years, but when new owner Mark Baird took over a couple of years back, he felt the urge to bring live music and community vibes into this already insanely cool little dive bar.
Mark began putting on the occasional show and the vibe was great, but now, having teamed up with booking agents Ryan Miller (Black Rheno frontman) and Kieron Haycock of Stereo Deathray, this killer dive bar is aiming to be the Northern Beaches number one original live music venue. With a fresh renovation opening up the room and dancefloor, this 100-cap space is just ripe for both local and touring bands alike, and booking requests are open now.
Their mission here is clear: to help grow and lift the local music community from a grassroots level up, providing a stage where bands of every style of music and at every level of their career are welcome. From young artists just starting out, to national and international acts on tour. This venue is the perfect breeding ground, whether you’re cutting your teeth on your first shows or you’re a veteran of the touring circuit.
Sitting just 40 minutes north of Sydney’s CBD, it’s the perfect spot for touring bands to add a side show while passing through Sydney. Plus, being a 100-cap room, it packs out easily and guarantees one hell of a vibe.
Attached below is a photo gallery from the first night of Black Rheno’s Bad Ass Tour, where they teamed up with local acts The Darrans, Die Rat Die, and Stricta. The place was packed, the vibe was large and the venue, cool as hell. It’s a damn fine day when a proper little dive bar decides to go full tilt on live original music with core players from the Australian music scene at the helm. This is all definitely good news for both the local, and Australian music scene.
The Team are geared up and booking bands now for 2025 into 2026. To reach out, hit them up at: milla_bookings@stereodeathray.
