Sydney metal heavyweights Justice For The Damned share their frantic new single Clawing Wounds“, featuring Taylor Barber of Left To Suffer, off their long-awaited upcoming album, Stay Relentless, out August 15 via Greyscale Records.

“Clawing Wounds” is a shift for the band, diving deeper into chaos with a more frenzied and volatile energy than heard previously: “We wanted to try on a sonic vibe that was a bit different to the rest of the record, at least in the first half of the song,” says the band. “Clawing Wounds showcases a chaotic and frantic side of Justice that we haven’t really tapped into before.”

Thematically, the track delves into the slow, painful crawl through depression, culminating in a sense of hope and strength. Its accompanying video leans into a dark apocalyptic aesthetic, visually reflecting the turmoil embedded in the song. Watch the video here.

The new track follows singles Stay Relentless” and “Built To Be Broken“, the latter of which accompanied the album announcement in May and sharpened the blade of the band’s signature sound without compromising its core. “Every element is showcased at one point or another,” the band shares. “The vocals are the meanest Bobak has ever sounded, the guitars relentlessly hammer the main riff into your brain, the drums are fast and precise and the bass soars on its own toward the end to lead you into the final breakdowns (both of them) where everything comes together to totally crush your skull.”

Though new music may have previously been a long time coming, Justice For The Damned never slowed down. With nearly a decade of non-stop touring across Australia, the US, and Europe, the band has forged a reputation for their live shows and their ability to connect with the most intense crowds around the world. Their time on the road has shaped the new material, drawn from the incredible artists they’ve shared the stage with and the crowds they’ve performed for.

“Clawing Wounds” becomes the fourth single to lead the way towards the bands third studio album, marking their first taste of new music since their critically acclaimed 2020 album Pain Is Power cracked the ARIA Top 20 and skyrocketed the band across the globe. They launched a few new tracks live on a month-long regional Australian run that wrapped over the weekend supporting Make Them Suffer. In recent times they’ve shared stages with the likes of Chamber (us), Kublai Khan (us), Harms Way (us), Malevolence (uk), Left To Suffer (us), Thy Art Is Murder and have ticked off multiple sold out headline sets – proving why they’ve grown to be one of Australia’s most revered metal bands.

“Clawing Wounds” is out now and streaming everywhere, Stay Relentless will be available Friday August 15 via Greyscale Records.
