After two recent singles, ‘Nothing’s Forever and “Now That You’re Gone”, today May 30th, The Wrath release their long awaited third full-length album, ’Into The Arms Of Oblivion’ via Vinnies Records on Vinyl and available via all streaming platforms.
Into The Arms Of Oblivion highlights the best of The Wrath with their emotive, high-energy punk rock melded together amongst a dark gothic undertone. A sound they have honed with over two decades in the game, Into the Arms of Oblivion pushes the sound of The Wrath further, defying expectations and doubling down on the raw energy that has defined them for two decades.
Vocalist Tommy Creeper says about the album,
“Our intention was to write an album that was different from the first two in terms of sound and song writing. We have tried over the years to try a create something different each time. Writing the album gave me an outlet to deal with my personal experiences of grief and loss that I was going through during the writing of the record, which is a theme throughout the album. The album also has an element of resilience within the lyrics, that we all have the power within us to change and rise from dark moments in life.
There is one cover track on the album, from a Brisbane band called Bantha Fodder that we followed around as kids looking up to them when we first got playing in bands. So, it’s a bit of a tip of the hat to where we come from and what influenced us locally.
Liam Kriz has done a great job with how the record sounds! It’s never an easy task for an engineer to bring to fruition our ideas of where we want to take the sound with a double bass in the mix with high gain guitars and all the vocal back-ups. While, our guitarist, Carina Acquarola designed all the artwork for the record.”
