King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard announce long awaited return to Australia

Finally, after more than two years since playing their home country, our world-conquering, freewheeling DIY heroes KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD announce a very special bunch of Australian east coast dates for December 2025. This tour comes hot on the heels of their 27th (!!) album “Phantom Island” and will see them play tracks from right across their vast catalogue. Phantom Island is out June 13 via p(doom) records.

In true King Gizzard style, these are of course not normal dates; this creation is a dual-headed tour with two very different types of show in each of the cities of Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.

Firstly, there will be mind-bending orchestra shows led by conductor and musical director Chad Kelly, with 29-piece ensembles from Australia’s most acclaimed orchestras in the majestic settings of the Sydney Opera House with Sydney Symphony Orchestra), Princess Theatre (with Queensland Symphony Orchestra) and Sidney Myer Music Bowl (with Orchestra Victoria [and Folk Bitch Trio opening]).

And never shy of offering an intense and fantastical mind-melting journey through psych/rock/metal/blues/boogie/folk/world music and more, KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD will also do their legendary full length rock show in each city at these hallowed live music venues; Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane, the Enmore Theatre in Sydney and a tour closing hometown monster at Sidney Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne.
At these rock and roll shows you will also enjoy the company of ground-breaking artists Party Dozen (Brisbane/Sydney) and Barkaa (Melbourne).
Melbourne hometown faithful also have the option of a discounted two-night bundle to see both shows at the Bowl.
