Brisbane metal outfit DIESECT share title track HIDE FROM THE LIGHT off of their EP of the same name out Friday May 30 via Greyscale Records. DIESECT will tour their new music across Queensland in June supporting Make Them Suffer on their regional run.
The new single, HIDE FROM THE LIGHT, is an aggressive evolution of the bands established sound and encapsulates the energy of their forthcoming EP, featuring additional production by ProdPlague and Luka Rozaka of ten56.
The ‘HIDE FROM THE LIGHT’ EP is the band’s third, and is their first with Greyscale Records. The EP thematically tells the story of an individual gradually losing faith or hope in being able to heal, until the desire to try passes and they are wilfully consumed by the negative. “This story is told chronologically through each song on the project, with the opening and closing tracks intended to serve as mirrors of each other to convey the final message of the story; if you choose to hide from the light, you in turn will suffer in the dark,” tells the band.
Earlier this year DIESECT announced their signing to Greyscale Records and shared their first single from the upcoming EP, TOO MANY SCARS, followed by their second offering, SHURA. The quartet have been making waves independently since their inception in 2021, and both TOO MANY SCARS and SHURA introduced new elements and production in a chaotic and abrasive fashion. They launched their new tracks around Australia earlier this year on a mammoth Australian tour supporting Thrown (SWE) with Half Me (DE) on the entirely sold out Excessive Guilt Tour.
