Scotland’s masters of brutal death metal Party Cannon have released a new single – “High Tariff Behaviour” – via Unique Leader Records!

Party Cannon comments: “We’re back, already, barely a year after our last album – this time in Megadrive format. IQs have been slowly recovering over the past couple of months so figured now was the time to drop a single with our new vocalist – Daryl ‘The Frog Man’ Boyce. Usually when bands change vocalists, they use it as an excuse to go in a different, softer, direction musically, whereas we’ve once again doubled down on all things Party Slam and written the dumbest, most blastbeat and slam riff filled track possible. No drywall will be left un-punched after that first slam kicks in. I highly recommend wearing a helmet on initial listen. Keen listeners will be able to spot our Inveracity and Waking The Cadaver fandom on full display here. Daryl absolutely crushed his debut track with us, he’s continued the identifiable Party Slam style while adding his own take and some new elements to the mix. We didn’t hire him for his clean singing. ‘High Tariff Behaviour’ is a bureaucratical term used by social workers to describe things like drinking, drug taking and fighting – which is the heart and soul of all death metal really – and not a reference to any current geopolitical issues. That is just unfortunate timing. With the help of our skeletal man Vominic and Scapegoat Productions, we’ve released a limited physical run of the single on Megadrive. That’s right, Megadrive. The cartridge is legit and works on an actual Megadrive console, we felt this was a special way to mark the new era of the band.”

Vocalist Daryl Boyce adds: “I’m excited for everyone to hear the madness that is ‘High Tariff Behaviour’, it’s everything you’d expect from Party Cannon but with more stupidity.

“Be prepared for zero clean singing, zero weak riffs and zero tolerance for cowards, nothing but hench riffs and blasts beat supremacy.

“I really had a lot of fun tracking the vocals to this song and I’d like to say thanks to the rest of the Party Cannon guys for giving me the freedom to do what I wanted on this track.”

For more Party Cannon, the band recently released an extensive, behind-the-scenes tour documentary – “Vomitour 2024” – featuring interviews, backstage antics, and a deep dive into the band’s history.
