‘Clamare’ invites the audience on an interpretative journey that aims to tap into the collective human understanding and the feeling of being overwhelmed. A moody alternative-rock composition, the haunting vocal style is matched with delicate guitar and underlain with tribal drum and bass. The interplay between instruments aims to tap into the subconscious fear of being trapped. The gradual crescendo culminates in an explosive climax that questions the fruitlessness of endeavours. As vocalist Naomi states: “It’s like you’ve tried and tried, you have nothing left and are dissociated from what you were originally after, and why you were after it.”
Sol Onyx is a Brisbane-based band consisting of four members that hail from different musical avenues. Each member brings their own unique knowledge to the band, with many years of collective experience from backgrounds and influences that include heavy metal, contemporary and classical music, to create pieces that aim to provide a listening experience that captivates the audience.
