Today, Sydney powerhouse act Stand Atlantic announce the Was Here tour, hitting the east coast of Australia this August. The Was Here tour will see the band headlining their biggest shows in this country to date, which is testimony to one of Australia’s hardest working bands right now. Supporting Stand Atlantic on this run will be Sly Withers & VANA. Full tour details below.

Bonnie from Stand Atlantic on the upcoming tour:it feels like its been forever since we were able to showcase a proper headline show in the motherland of australia. this tour is going to be something absolutely special and unique. It’ll be the biggest rooms we have ever headlined and we’re excited to put the biggest show of our lives to fit. we cant wait for you to join us!”

Recently Stand Atlantic announced their fourth studio album and dropped the single GIRL$, a sparkling collab track with fellow alt pop stars LYNN GUNN of PVRIS and Mexican alt rocker BRUSES. The band is out for blood as they announce ‘Was Here’ (Out August 23), which showcases the band’s most masterful songwriting to date. With a murderous album cover and an equally as killer 15 song tracklist, Stand Atlantic is ready to bulldoze their way to the top.

Bonnie says of the new single GIRL$:
“i feel like the message of the song speaks for itself, i wanted to show my appreciation for women and personally, my experience growing up knowing i was attracted to women but still feeling like i had to fit the mold of the male gaze, just based on the way i was influenced by a male dominated society. i hope other queer women and women in general resonate with this track, but also anyone in between. i wrote it for anyone who’s ever felt squashed by the strange and subtle pressures society can place on young people based off old as shit paradigms.

that being said, having lynn (pvris) and amalia (bruses) on this track made it so much more meaningful to me personally. both female, queer and talented artists i respect so much. making this music video was a friggen gas, me and lynn both had the same idea independently of each other when she agreed to be on the track – ‘lets be old ladies’. im sure ppl expected us all to be selling sex and queer baiting the shit out of this – so we did what any rap video would do, but as old ladies.”

Stand Atlantic doesn’t care about your expectations or your narrative. They don’t want to tell a story. In fact, they didn’t want this bio to exist. The band released their third studio album f.e.a.r. (fuck everything and run) via Hopeless Records in 2022, which debuted No.10 on the ARIA Album Chart. After the album racked up ~80 Million streams across all major streaming services combined thanks to smash singles like “hair out,” “deathwish” (ft. nothing, nowhere) and “pity party” (ft. Royal & the Serpent), the band has only continued their explosive success. The band has seen endless praise from outlets like AltPress, Rock Sound, Kerrang! and more, and aren’t slowing their momentum anytime soon.
