What a night! Skillet make their return to Australia after just over 5 years bringing a nostalgia hit for those who went previously. With the exact same line up for the evening, with local Brisbane heroes These Four Walls opening, fans were ready for the rock show of a lifetime.

Queensland based rockers These Four Walls are no strangers to Aussie fans of Skillet and Brisbane live music venue Eatons Hill Hotel. Yet again the band of four did not disappoint. TFW were such an enjoyment to watch back when they previously were on the 2018 tour, it’s no wonder John Cooper and Crew chose them yet again. Steve Gibb ongoingly brought the energy and kept the audience entranced with his beautiful vocals.

Gibb constantly showcased how grateful he, Grey Vickers, Brad Vickers and Elliot Burton were to be back on this stage by taking every spare moment he had to thank the crowd. When he wasn’t doing that or blowing people away with how great this man can sing, Gibb was running around the stage like he was on a sugar high. It was a great form of entertainment. Gray Vickers got so much into his performance, he almost knocked over a banner but had a very quick save before it could come tumbling into the audience.

Between sets, the showgoers were brought together by Linkin Park’s hit Numb blasting over the sound system. Not a single person wasn’t singing along to the words creating a beautiful core memory for everyone around. It was such a sweet moment which showcased how strong music can be when it comes to bringing people together for one common love.

Now for the band everyone had been anticipating. Skillet did not hold back! The energy is indescribable for just how much life this musical family of four brings to their performance.

From John Cooper’s neck-spinning bass tricks to Jen Ledger’s and Seth Morrison’s solos and even Korey Cooper absolutely copping it in the face with the fog machine multiple times and still shredding it on guitar.
These guys know how to put on a show! Playing classic hits such as Monster to newer and fresher music from their album Dominion; the American, Christian, rock band covered all bases to put together an amazing set.

Fans traveled from as far as South Africa and the Philippines just to be at the show tonight which demonstrates the mere dedication the Skillet fanbase has for this band and it was 100% worth their time. Three songs into the evening and John Cooper had fog machines attached to his body and shot smoke into the crowd. On the other end of the spectrum Cooper got real and deep, talking about how Jesus Christ got him through some very tough mental battles.

Skillet brought the Rock to the Roll. Their shows are ones not to be missed. With beautiful lighting, epic live effects and just all-around great energy, you are bound to have a fun time out with this lot. Skillet hit Melbourne on Sunday night to perform at, yet another sold out show. One thing is for sure Brisbane already misses and cannot wait to welcome Skillet back.
