Newcastle metalcore outfit Vilify share new single Light Bringer and announce EP Fever Dream, out Friday April 19. Vilify will launch their single live at Alpha Wolf’s curated music festival CVLTFEST in Brisbane this February.

Juxtaposing the serenity of sleep with the misery of life, Light Bringer explores the escape from reality that sleep brings. “Light bringer is a bit of a metaphorical deep dive into my love for sleep and the peace it brings,” explains vocalist Amy McIntosh“When my waking life becomes overwhelming I find myself searching for “better” or “happier” in the clutches of slumber. The track finds me trying to summon or beacon this personification of bliss – Sleep is my saviour and she saves me from the pain of existence.”

Engineered by Chris Blancato (Reliqa, Northlane) and mastered by Mark Williamson (Inertia), the new tracks comes partnered with a music video created in-house by McIntosh – streaming now bia BVTV. The scathing new single is released as the first puzzle piece from Vilify’s forthcoming EP, ‘Fever Dream’, out everywhere in April.

Light Bringer will be shared live for the first time at CVLTFEST this February, where Vilify will join Alpha WolfCrossfaith (JPN), Emmure (US), Paledusk (JPN), Ocean GroveDiamond Construct and more at Eatons Hill Hotel in Brisbane Saturday 24th of February. Tickets on sale now via Destroy All Lines.

Vilify is Amy McIntosh (vocals), Deni Hourihan (guitar), Kieran Jackson (drums) and Lizi Blanco (bass). Since their inception Vilify have explored all corners of their alternative metal genre, and across their releases they’ve developed a sound that is uniquely their own. Vilify hone in on their darkness through their lyrical content and have found a way to ensure every song has its own identity, while staying true to the goal of keeping crowds moving and listeners feeling.

Never a band to shy away from heavy subject matters, their standalone single, Take The Pill, was described by NME Au as “crushing” as vocalist McIntosh divulged that the track is about, “the battle of balance between SSRIs, depression and drive”.  Their most recent singles From The Inside and Dread Addict tackled the journey of self discovery and identity. Both tracks saw the band achieve national radio play, clock tens of thousands of digital streams and established Vilify as a band on a mission to help others through candid storytelling and unrestrained live performance.

The band’s ability to captivate audiences and create an inclusive atmosphere has made them a highly sought-after support act sharing the stage with the likes of NorthlaneErra (USA), Paledusk (JPN), Alpha Wolf, Void Of VisionBelle HavenWindwaker and more.

Light Bringer is available now and streaming everywhere. The ‘Fever Dream’ EP will be available Friday April 19.
