Weightless are back with their brand new single “Bloodsucker” featuring Jack Bergin of Void Of Vision

Sydney-based Metalcore powerhouse, Weightless, is back with a vengeance, dropping their explosive new single, “BLOODSUCKER”. This hard-hitting track sees them take on a vocal collaboration with Aussie icon, Jack Bergin of Void Of Vision. This track marks the final single before their upcoming EP A State of Mind, releasing on December 8th.

The track showcases more electronic influence than previously heard from them, pulsing throughout the track while being perfectly blended with their signature sound of heavy guitars, fast rhythms and visceral screams. The song’s central theme revolves around the presence of someone in your life who acts as a life-draining leech. With aggressive lyrics, Weightless paints a vivid picture of reaching the end of one’s rope. They speak to the feeling of being completely drained and the self-loathing that accompanies allowing the situation to get so bad.

Weightless emerged onto the scene in 2020, swiftly gaining recognition for their debut EP “Turn The Page”, released in 2021. With an electrifying take on the metalcore genre, they’ve already supported acts the likes of Ocean Sleeper, Heists and Deficit and have seen their debut EP earn them Triple J’s Unearthed Feature Album of the Week.

2023 has seen substantial growth for the four-piece, seeing them reach over 20,000 monthly listeners on Spotify off the back of their previous 3 singles, allowing them to be featured in the coveted Spotify playlists “Homegrown and Heavy” and “New Metal Tracks”. The group has also received love from Australian radio titans Triple J, seeing their tracks premiering across their shows “Home & Hosed” and “The Racket”.

“Recording ‘Bloodsucker’ was a journey into the depths of my own struggles, feeling like a failure and my own worst enemy. Vocal tracking was intense and passionate, and thanks to Nat, we found that dynamic sweet spot. It’s about knowing when to push and when to hold back.” shares the bands vocalist, Luke Benicky.
