ATENA, the groundbreaking metalcore fourpiece from Norway, is set to unleash their last single, “Hard Day,” before their upcoming album, “Subway Anthem” drops in September. Known for their experimental approach and fusion of classic metalcore with urban elements, ATENA has established themselves as a force to be reckoned with.

Mixed and mastered by the acclaimed Swedish producer Henrik Udd, renowned for his work with bands such as Bring Me The Horizon, Architects, and Imminence, “Hard Day” promises to captivate listeners with its raw energy and thought-provoking lyrics. The track delves into the struggles faced by the new generation, grappling with the constant battle of balancing work and personal time, despising the monotony of daily routines and yearning for a break from societal obligations.

The band states:
“It is truly disheartening to be caught in a perpetual struggle of making ends meet and lacking sufficient personal time to enjoy life instead of toiling away. We utterly despise every aspect of work, detest the routine of attending school, and resent the piercing sound of the alarm clock. Every single aspect of it is overwhelmingly negative.

Formed in Norway, ATENA has emerged as one of the most notable and experimental metalcore acts in the country. With their fusion of classic metalcore and urban soundscape, the band addresses the challenges faced by new generations. Combining heavy guitars, electronic samples, and hip-hop influences, ATENA’s music explores darker episodes of life while drawing inspiration from classical composers.

With four successful albums under their belt, ATENA has become one of the frontrunners of Norwegian metalcore. Their music seamlessly combines heavy guitars, electronic samples, and hip-hop influences, resulting in a unique and unforgettable sonic experience. Drawing inspiration from classical composers, hip hop, and a passion for heavy music, ATENA crafts songs that explore darker episodes of life, creating a captivating and introspective journey for their listeners.

ATENA’s previous album, “Drowning Regret & Lungs Filled with Water,” received critical acclaim both domestically and internationally. Metal Hammer UK applauded the band’s boundary-pushing approach, while Norway’s leading newspaper, Dagbladet, praised them as a exotic presence in the country’s metal scene.

“Subway Anthem,” ATENA’s highly anticipated new album, is scheduled for release on September 29 via Indie Recordings.
