Ben Frank from Battlesnake talks new album, opening for KISS and Smashing Pumpkins

Forged deep in the fiery pits of the underworld, the Battlesnake rises up to take the earth by storm….

The lovechild of Queen, Tenacious DJudas Priest and Gwar, Battlesnake are a unique beast within the Australian music scene. The cult metallers are knocking at the door of what all underdogs dream of but few ever experience.

The Everblack Podcast spoke to Battlesnake guitarist Ben Frank about their brand new self titled album, growing up with Battlesnake vocalist and brother Sam, being unable to comprehend a massive twelve months and more!

Watch/listen to the interview here:

Twelve months ago they were playing at a small, sweaty dive bar in Sydney on a Sunday night. Nine months ago they received the call that every child who has ever picked up a guitar has fantasised about. The voice on the other end of the line asked “How do you feel about opening for KISS?” Fortunately for Battlesnake, after thousands of hours, blood sweat and beers, this was a call they had been prepared for. Their answer; “A hometown show at Qudos Bank Arena on the last ever Kiss tour, yeah let us check our diary!” Needless to say they rocked the house and made many a new fan!

Fast forward six months from the thunderous reception they received from the KISS crowd, Battlesnake are now on the eve of touring Australia with The Smashing PumpkinsJane’s Addiction and Amyl & The Sniffers. All of this in the span of 12 months begs the question… What’s in store for Battlesnake over the next 12 months?
