Grammy-winning Swedish theatrical rock band GHOST, hailed as one of the world’s most thrilling and prestigious creative forces, is thrilled to reveal their inaugural Australian headline tour taking place in October. The tour will kick off in Sydney on October 3 at the Hordern Pavilion, then move on to Melbourne on October 4 at Margaret Court Arena before concluding in Brisbane on October 7 at the Riverstage.
With over a billion streams and a knack for crafting infectious musical delights, GHOST is a band that truly lives up to the term “spectacle.” From their imposing yet elegant and finely-crafted sonic output to their ethereal live performances, the group continues to grow their fan base and captivate audiences with each new release and show. Their brand of theatricality incorporates a mesmerizing twist on a range of genres, and the GHOST mystique and breathtaking skill is evident both on stage and across their five full-length albums and multiple EPs, including their upcoming covers EP, PHANTOMIME, set to release this May.
PHANTOMIME will feature five tracks covering classic and deep cuts by Television, Genesis, The Stranglers, Iron Maiden, and Tina Turner. The EP will also serve as a bridge between the group’s internationally chart-topping 2022 album Impera, which debuted at #1 on various US album charts.
Led by Tobias Forge and the ever-changing identities of the demonic Papa Emeritus and, briefly, Cardinal Copia, GHOST’s evolution is rooted in their ambitious and innovative DNA, spanning heavy metal, hard rock, doom metal, psychedelic rock, pop, and beyond. Throughout their career, they have challenged the status quo and garnered critical acclaim, boasting over 9 million monthly listeners on Spotify alone, winning Breakthrough Band at the 2012 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, and earning the Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2016 for their single, “Cirice.”
With Forge’s macabre sensuality and a legion of instrumentalists known as Nameless Ghouls, GHOST’s infamous shows boldly break free from the confines of a traditional metal concert. Over the years, their performances have featured confetti cannons, disco lights, and a razor-sharp aesthetic, captivating audiences on festival runs and massive arena tours. This Australian tour marks the band’s first-ever headlining appearance, promising a wild ride like no other in October.
