V-Man from SLIPKNOT talks ‘The End, So Far’, Knotfest, Metallica and work as a guitar tech to metal legends

Monolithic metal icons SLIPKNOT has just released their highly anticipated new album, THE END, SO FAR via Roadrunner Records.

For over two decades the masked maniacs from Iowa have carved their mark deep into metal history, from their mind-blowing debut that took them from humble small-town beginnings to massive arena shows and headliners of their own Knotfest touring festival. The bands journey over the years has been unlike any other, filled with victorious triumphs to personal tragedies, their story is inspiring, heartbreaking and nothing short of legendary. One thing is for sure b are unstoppable and their legions of fans known as ‘Maggots’ are here for it every step of the way.

Despite the difficulties of the pandemic, Slipknot put their focus on creating their latest masterpiece ‘The End,So Far’, a record that sees the band push their sound further into the unknown, challenging expectations on what a ‘Knot album’ should be while still keeping the core elements that fans know and love as the skeletal base to launch off from. ‘The End,So Far’ is not only a great metal record but also one that will be seen as one of the bands master works for years to come.

The Everblack Podcast spoke to SLIPKNOT bass player Alessandro ‘V-Man’ Venturella about their new album ‘The End,So Far’, the writing process during lockdowns and musical direction, his work as a guitar tech for other big bands, going from crew to headliner at the last ever Soundwave Festival, his memories of seeing Slipknot for the first time and more!
